Build Financial Models That Actually Work
Most financial models fail because they're built on templates that don't fit real business problems. We teach you to create models from scratch—ones that answer your specific questions and adapt as your situation changes.

Why Standard Templates Don't Cut It
Here's what we've noticed over the years. People download a template, plug in their numbers, and wonder why the output doesn't make sense. The problem isn't the numbers—it's that every business has different drivers, different constraints, different goals.
A retail business needs to model inventory turnover and seasonal fluctuations. A tech startup needs to track burn rate and runway scenarios. A manufacturing operation needs to factor in production capacity and supply chain variables. One size genuinely doesn't fit all.
Our approach starts with understanding what questions you're trying to answer. Then we build the model to answer those questions—not the other way around. You'll learn to identify the key variables that matter for your situation and structure your analysis around them.
How Our Programs Work
We run intensive programs starting September 2025 and February 2026. Small groups, practical focus, real business scenarios. You'll spend time building models, testing assumptions, and learning to spot where things break.
Foundation Building
Start with core principles. Understand how financial statements connect. Learn to identify which metrics actually matter and why some common practices lead people astray.
Scenario Testing
Build models that handle multiple scenarios. Learn to stress-test assumptions and identify breaking points before they become real problems. Practice with cases drawn from actual business situations.
Custom Applications
Apply what you've learned to your own context. Work through your specific challenges with guidance. Build models you can actually use in your work, not just exercises for practice.
Who Teaches These Programs
Both of us come from working with businesses directly—not just teaching theory. We've built models for companies ranging from early-stage startups to established operations with complex financial structures.
Lachlan Thistlewood
Lead Instructor
Spent fifteen years building financial models for businesses across different sectors. Started in corporate finance, then moved to consulting where I saw the same modeling mistakes repeated everywhere. Now I teach people to avoid those mistakes from the start.
Freya Dunsworth
Senior Instructor
Worked with startups and growth-stage companies where financial models needed to adapt quickly. I focus on teaching people to build flexible models that survive contact with reality—because most don't.
